Believe It: Nanomesh Straw Turns Sewage Into Drinkable Water – Chris Barth – Invested Interest – Forbes.

“In the coordinated response to any disaster, one of the first, critical tasks is to ensure relief workers have access to clean drinking water. Those responding to a disaster must stay healthy and strong to help the victims of the disaster. Tanker trucks are often sent in with clean water or pallets of bottled water are shipped in. The logistics of transporting large volumes of clean water are daunting and, with the rising price of oil, increasingly expensive.

Seldon has a better alternative. Its WaterBox™ is the size of a suitcase and can provide clean drinking water to relief teams every day. An emergency responder can plug the unit into a power source such as a vehicle or generator, drop the intake hose into an available water source such as a pond or a lake and clean, safe water is produced at up to a gallon per minute.

Another option is to keep on hand a number of the WaterSticks™ which can be handed out in the case of an emergency to first responders or victims to ensure they have reliable access to clean water.”
